Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Air Conditioning Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair of air conditioning units. This role requires mechanical knowledge and the ability to troubleshoot various HVAC-related issues effectively. The Air Conditioning Technician will work both independently and as part of a team to ensure optimal performance of heating and cooling systems.
Duties
- Install, maintain, and repair air conditioning systems in residential and commercial settings.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC issues using schematics and technical manuals.
- Perform routine maintenance on HVAC equipment to ensure efficiency and longevity.
- Repair or replace defective parts, including compressors, motors, and electrical components.
- Conduct field service visits to assess customer needs and provide solutions.
- Utilize tools such as ohmmeters, welding equipment, and other diagnostic instruments for repairs.
- Collaborate with other technicians on complex projects involving HVAC design and refrigeration systems.
- Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used during repairs.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations during all service activities.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in HVAC/R systems.
- Proficiency in reading schematics and technical drawings related to HVAC design.
- Familiarity with plumbing systems as they relate to air conditioning units.
- Experience in appliance repair, particularly with air conditioning systems.
- Ability to perform equipment repair tasks efficiently, including welding when necessary.
- Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems is a plus.
- Previous experience in construction or property maintenance is advantageous.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on customer service.
- Valid driver's license is required for travel between job sites.
