Graphic Designer

We are seeking a passionate and innovative Graphic Designer to help shape the visual storytelling that inspires our guests and fuels our mission.
About the Role
In this dynamic role, you’ll create eye-catching print, digital, and environmental designs that bring the Air Zoo brand to life. Your work will raise awareness, drive participation, enhance guest engagement, support major exhibits and campaigns, and elevate the overall visitor experience from the moment guests walk through our doors.
What You’ll Do
· Design high-quality visual content—including ads, promotional materials, digital and social media graphics, exhibit graphics, and signage—that reflects the Air Zoo’s bold, imaginative brand.
· Collaborate with teams across the organization to understand goals and deliver creative solutions that resonate with diverse audiences.
· Support exhibit and environmental design through interpretive graphics, prototypes, and accessible, engaging visual elements.
· Contribute to marketing campaigns, promotions, programs, and fundraising initiatives through strategic, visually compelling assets.
· Champion brand consistency while helping evolve our visual identity in fresh and innovative ways.
· Manage multiple projects at once, ensuring accuracy, creativity, and production readiness from concept to final delivery.
· Assist with photography, video, and on-site visual support for events as needed.
What You Bring
· Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, marketing, digital media, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
· 3 years of graphic design experience with a strong, diverse portfolio.
· Proficiency in Adobe design software, project management tools, Microsoft Office, and and Canva.
· Experience with CMS platforms (e.g., Wordpress, Sitewrench) is beneficial.
· Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate, prioritize, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
· Experience with multimedia, photography, or video production is a plus.
Schedule/Work Hours
Hours will vary, typically 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and weekend hours required for special events. This position is in-office/on-site at the Air Zoo in Portage, Michigan.
Compensation
Staring annual salary range $43,400 - $47,100, depending on skills, experience, and internal equity. The Air Zoo also offers a comprehensive benefits package, professional development opportunities, and a creative, mission-driven work environment.

Physical Requirements
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs. during design installations or event support.
