Maintenance Technician Assistant

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Assist in performing preventive maintenance (PM) on production equipment and machinery to minimize downtime
• Conduct assigned weekly inspections, including checking oil levels, lubricating equipment, and identifying potential issues
• Support maintenance technicians with equipment repairs, troubleshooting, and changeovers as needed
• Complete small-scale maintenance and repair tasks to support continuous production operations
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the maintenance shop and production floor areas
• Perform basic fabrication work to support equipment repairs and modifications
• Operate floor cleaning equipment and ensure production aisles are cleaned on a regular weekly schedule
• Perform painting and minor facility improvements to maintain a safe and professional work environment
• Assist with production-related projects, including equipment setup and process improvements
• Support facility maintenance projects, including building repairs and general upkeep
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  
  

Education And/or Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Basic mechanical aptitude with an interest in industrial maintenance
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred but not required
• Ability to use basic hand and power tools safely
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn in a hands-on environment
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
• Flexibility to support maintenance needs during production hours, including occasional overtime if required

Licenses / Certifications

Physical Requirements: Office and manufacturing environment. The ability to lift 50 pounds, stand and walk for prolonged periods, and work extended hours beyond regularly scheduled shifts. Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting items from various heights. Stamina to perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the shift.

Work Conditions: This job operates in an industrial manufacturing environment exposure to varying temperatures, loud noise levels, dust, fumes, oil, or other outdoor elements. This role requires regular standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods of time. Climbing stairs/ladders, squatting, sitting, operating machinery, and may require lifting up to 50lbs, and must be able to wear PPE as required. This is a full-time position and may require some overtime including nights and weekend work.
