Established Virginia Company seeking a reliable, professional, and customer-focused individual to join our department. This position will begin primarily as a customer service role, with training and development toward becoming a technical sales representative.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in building a long-term career in customer service and technical sales. Previous safety-industry experience is helpful but not required. We will provide training on our company, systems, processes, and product line.
Responsibilities
- Provide friendly, professional service to customers, distributors, and end users by phone and email
- Learn the company’s products, procedures, and distribution-based sales process
- Assist customers with product information and general technical questions
- Prepare and provide quotations
- Check product inventory and availability
- Review order status and provide updates to customers
- Learn and use the company’s computer database and internal systems
- Refer customers to distributors for purchasing
- Develop the product knowledge needed to grow into a technical sales role
- Maintain clear and accurate communication with customers and coworkers
- Perform other related customer service and sales-support duties as needed
Qualifications
- Dependable, punctual, and reliable
- Pleasant and professional telephone manner
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Able to write clear, professional emails
- Proficient typing and general computer skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Willingness and ability to learn a technical product line
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Previous customer service, sales, manufacturing, distribution, or safety-industry experience is a plus but not required
