The Terminal Maintenance Supervisor supervises maintenance activities at a DOT‑regulated terminal to ensure technicians, facilities, equipment, and operations align with all applicable Department of Transportation (DOT), FMCSA, FRA, and OSHA regulations and Air Products Policies. - Supervise maintenance personnel performing work on DOT regulated equipment
- Ensure compliance with applicable DOT regulations, including FMCSA, FRA, and HAZMAT standards
- Oversee inspection, maintenance, and repair of the below, while maintaining a functional technician and guiding role.
- Terminal equipment, including pump systems, underground storage tanks, fuel island, and building maintenance needs
- Tractors, Micro Bulk units, Argon Rail cars, LOX, LAR, and LIN Cryogenic trailers, LHY trailers, and Bulk gas trailers
- Manage preventive maintenance programs aligned with DOT and company requirements
- Ensure maintenance activities do not compromise DOT equipment operational safety or regulatory requirements
- Coordinate maintenance work to minimize down time of DOT regulated transportation equipment
- Maintain accurate DOT compliant documentation, including:
- Inspection and maintenance records
- Training records
- Track spending and work orders and report regularly to management
- Participate in regular update meetings
- Coordinate Near Miss and Event Management issues with Terminal Management
- Support emergency response teams related to equipment failure, spills, or safety incidents
- Lead contractor compliance with DOT safety and facility qualification requirements when vital
- Participate in internal and external DOT audits and inspections when required
- Knowledge of Air Products equipment strongly preferred/desired
- High school diploma or GED required, degree/certification in diesel technology.
- Minimum 3–5 years maintenance experience in a DOT regulated terminal, transportation, or industrial facility
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Strong solid understanding of DOT, FMCSA, FRA, and OSHA regulations
- HAZMAT awareness and incident response experience preferred.
- CDL preferred.
- Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and Cryo pumping systems
- Cryogenic liquids and atmospheric gas product knowledge preferred.
- Ability to read technical drawings, manuals, and maintenance documentation.
- Experience/proficiency with computer maintenance management systems such as SAP, Fleetio, Atlas, and Agile Point software preferred
- Ability to interpret and apply DOT regulations to maintenance operations
- Strong leadership skills with excellent problem-solving capabilities
- Effective communication and coordination skills
- Excellent safety awareness and risk mitigation attitude
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment
