How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?Summary: The Logistics Lead will assist the Logistics Supervisor in maintaining high-performance objectives for all departmental standards, including safety, timeliness, quality/accuracy, security, and productivity. The Lead will direct the Logistics Technicians to execute their responsibilities. The Logistics Lead also serves as a primary backup for the Logistics Supervisor in cases where the Supervisor is out of the office or unavailable. The Lead will be expected to work proactively on multiple tasks without supervision. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Drive a culture of "Do It Safely, Do It Right the First Time" with actions and words daily.
Safely and efficiently perform assigned processes to meet the required daily logistics
activities for the site.
Direct shift activities to meet shipping, receiving, inventory moves, cycle count, and other
scheduled shifts.
Create an environment that fosters team and individual empowerment.
Participate in monthly safety meetings and promote a safe work environment.
Work with the Logistics Supervisor to facilitate the integration of new shift team members.
Ensure all work processes and work instructions for the team are followed daily.
Ensure accurate inventory records for all raw materials, finished goods and assets
Examine the levels of supplies and raw materials to determine shortages weekly
Ensure Raw Materials, Finished Goods and Assets Inventory Accuracy of 99.99% for all
sites
Ensure all Environmental, Safety, and Health standards and regulations are met or
exceeded.
Ensure all technicians wear the required PPE for the task at hand.
Facilitate first-line conflict resolution.
Oversee that proper inventory levels of packaging and shipping supplies are maintained.
Brief Logistics Supervisor on equipment, process, and general logistics issues.
Use best judgment to resolve issues while taking the input and advice of more qualified
personnel to perform a particular process. Contact appropriate off-duty personnel when
additional guidance is needed.
Ensure timely and accurate completion of import and export filings, customs transactions,
archiving documents to meet international trade compliance requirements, and any other
activities needed to ensure effective international shipping
Facilitate forklift operations to load and unload carrier trucks.
Initiate and administer ongoing safety programs.
Assist in SOP and Work instructions revision as needed
Coordinate customer and/or supplier deliveries.
Complete annual personal goals to support the achievement of site goals and personal
development goals to support career development.
Ensure accuracy of all transactions within ERP to ensure accurate data for operational
efficiency.
Ensure the accuracy of all federal filings (AES, etc.) to avoid regulatory repercussions
(fines, commercial penalties, etc.)
Act as a backup to the Logistics Supervisor with the authority to assign work to other
logistics technicians at the site.
Attend the daily site meeting and provide updates and positive feedback to the site
Establish a strong relationship with other departments on logistics process/quality issues.
Attend daily operations meetings to align logistics with the site's daily needs.
Coordinate all warehouse work based on priorities set by the supervisor.
Prioritize all incoming and outgoing orders as necessary and direct as necessary.
Attend weekly production meetings to align logistics activities receiving with the site's
weekly needs.
Assist in training Logistics Technicians
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
3 years of relevant industry experience in logistics operations (shipping, receiving,
warehouse operations, inventory management)
Ability to work at both ALAM Pennsylvania sites
Must be certified to drive a forklift
Strong customer service orientation
Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to follow all work instructions and safety protocols
Ability to understand the properties and hazards associated with chemicals and
compressed gases
Experience in filing IMO, AES, and ISF
Must be a quick learner with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and
maintain focus and adapt to a variety of challenges
Must be organized with attention to detail and the ability to follow directions to meet
deadlines
Must have good written and verbal communication skills and be very capable of regular
interaction with all support departments
Computer literate with experience using Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and
Excel
Computer literate with Google Docs, Sheets, & Slides
Knowledge of 49 CFR, 15 CFR, DOT, IATA, and IMDG regulations
Perform all required training as they are assigned
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior industrial gas experience
Work Conditions:
Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area
Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse
Ensure that no alarms or interlocks are bypassed
Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety.
Comply with all company safety policies and OSHA and MSDS Standards.
Physical Qualifications:
Must be able to move around a large warehouse for eight or more hours in a fast-paced
environment
Must be able to lift to 50 pounds regularly and repetitively
Ability to climb ladders
Significant manual dexterity for keying in data for long periods
Must be clean-shaven and able to medically pass a respiratory test and a physical
examination to wear a full-face respirator as required.
Ability to roll cylinders that weigh up to 200 lbs - Rolling cylinders require an individual to
tilt a cylinder slightly with one hand and use the other hand to move the cylinder forward
by rolling it.
