In this senior role, you will guide major digital transformation and IT modernization initiatives across AFRL by:
- Strengthening AFRL’s digital ecosystem through improved data governance, data engineering, data science, and digital workforce development.
- Advising leadership and program teams on digital modernization approaches that enhance mission value and reduce risk.
- Contributing to AFRL’s IT strategy and supporting integration of emerging technologies and digital trends.
- Advancing cloud adoption, Agile and DevOps practices, and product‑line delivery models for IT services.
- Improving data accessibility, interoperability, and the reliability, performance, and security of AFRL’s digital and IT systems.
- Enhancing digital customer experience for researchers, mission partners, and stakeholders across the enterprise.
- Direct and supervise a team, managing daily operations, appraisal evaluations, and resource allocations to ensure mission effectiveness.

Required Qualifications
- US Citizenship
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance
- At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade (DO/DR‑03/GS‑14 for DO/DR‑04), or equivalent experience in other pay systems
- This position may be filled under multiple occupational series. Applicants are required to meet all OPM Qualification Standard requirements for the applicable occupational series and grade.
- Extensive experience applying digital engineering, IT modernization, cloud technologies, or data‑centric transformation to complex mission or enterprise environments.
- Demonstrated ability to shape technical strategy, guide multidisciplinary teams, and influence digital direction across diverse stakeholders and organizational levels
- Demonstrated ability to build and sustain effective partnerships across diverse organizations, stakeholder groups, and mission environments.
- Proven commitment to advancing national defense objectives through innovative digital solutions, modern engineering practices, and technology‑driven mission impact.
