The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a full-time Security Control Assessor Representative, GS-2210-12, at the Policy and Governance NC3 Mission Assurance Branch, Barksdale AFB, Bossier City, LA.
This position is a TERM position NOT to exceed 31 Aug 2027, but may be extended or lead to a permanent position.

Qualifications:
In this role, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive review and assessment of technical, operational, and management security controls submitted by system program managers and ensure controls are properly addressed, have the appropriate artifacts, the plan of actions and milestones meet requirements set by the authorizing official. Will work closely with the security control assessor in conducting the risk assessment of system weaknesses, recommend corrective actions, and provide authorization recommendation to the authorizing official and their representative.

- Ability to obtain/maintain a Top Secret Clearance
- This is a designated drug testing position.
- Information Assurance Certification is a condition of employment. This position includes information assurance (IA) work as a paramount duty requirement. Per DoD 8570.01-M, the incumbent of this position must achieve the appropriate IA certification IAM level III within six months of assignment of these duties.
- In-depth knowledge of the full range of IT security principles, concepts, methods, practices, products, and services (including systems software, database software, immediate access storage technology), and methods for evaluating risk and vulnerability, implementing mitigating improvement, and disseminating IT security tools and procedures.
- Prior experience in the area of Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) cybersecurity, is highly desirable.
- In-depth knowledge of IT security requirements for certification and accreditation, network operations and protocols, systems testing and evaluation, and performance management methods sufficient to plan and conduct security accreditation reviews for proposed or installed systems or networks and assess and advise on new or revised security measures and countermeasures based on the results of accreditation reviews.
- Knowledge of Wide and Local Area Network security requirements and techniques for protecting computer systems from viruses, data tampering, and unauthorized system entry.
- Knowledge of a broad range of telecommunications concepts and principles, operating modes, systems, media, equipment, equipment configuration, and related software systems, processes and procedures to assess and advise on vulnerability to attack from a variety of sources (e.g., espionage, disruption of services, destructive programs/applications) and procedures and methods for protection of systems and applications.
- Desired Experience: Risk Management Framework, Risk Assessment, Information Security, NIST, CISSP, CISM
