We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated network infrastructure technician with experience supporting extensive communications networks. This includes the maintenance and troubleshooting of 1,600 switches across 1,100 locations, a variety of routers, Voice over IP (VoIP) telephone systems, Wi-Fi networks and secure network environments. The technician is responsible for the installation, configuration, and ongoing support of this critical infrastructure to ensure seamless and reliable connectivity for all users. This role requires a collaborative team player who can effectively work with colleagues to resolve complex technical challenges. The technician is also responsible for developing and drafting technical solutions to meet evolving customer requirements. Furthermore, they will perform technical acceptance on all related work performed on the base, ensuring the highest standards of quality and performance for all network and communication services.
Requirements
Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period. Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest.

Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship
- Obtain & maintain a Security clearance
- The employee may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty
- Knowledge of basic LAN/WAN and system principles and practices sufficient to install, configure, and troubleshoot components.
- Knowledge of customer support principals, methods, and procedures for documenting problem resolutions and providing guidance and training to customers.
- Knowledge of concepts and techniques required to assist in the planning, operation, and maintenance of a LAN/WAN, including the installation and implementation of enhancements.
- Knowledge of the procedures and techniques necessary to gather, synthesize, and draw conclusions regarding trend analysis.
- Ability to analyze routine network problems and recommend solutions.
- Ability to communicate factual and procedural information clearly, both orally and in writing.
