The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for an Electrical Engineer (NH-0850-03) to work at USSTRATCOM/J43 at Offutt Air Force Base, Located in Bellevue, Nebraska.

In this position, you will be the lead electrical consultant performing work that consists of analyzing, evaluating, and providing electrical advisory services on existing and proposed power systems and the electrical power grid in support of all critical command, control, computers, communications and intelligence (C4I) facilities at USSTRATCOM.

This is a Direct Hiring Authority (DHA) position.

Salary Range is $89,507 - $138,369 Annually based on experience.

Military retirement is non-taxable in Nebraska.

Relocation Allowance & Recruitment Incentives may be authorized. Available Telework is Situational.

Requirements For This Position

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Position is designated critical-sensitive and requires a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance.
  • This position is designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions present a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety. It is required that you (a) refrain from the use of illegal drugs and (b) if requested, submit to urinalysis testing.
  • May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments.
  • May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
  • May be required to assist with manual labor tasks including but not limited to snow and ice removal, storm clean up, etc.

Recruitment Knowledges, Skills, And Abilities (ksa)

  • Professional knowledge of electrical engineering concepts, principles, and practices and extensive familiarity with other engineering disciplines and architecture; a broad range of engineering and construction standards, methods, practices, and techniques, materials, and equipment to ensure work is in compliance with regulations and standards; and the operations, products, services, needs, and goals of O&M programs and assigned organizations and related customers, functions, resources, and users.
  • Knowledge of standard contracting regulations, practices, and procedures; and work classifications and the regulatory and statutory restrictions on the expenditures of appropriated and non-appropriated funds.
  • Knowledge of automated data processing concepts, systems capabilities, and economic usage to effectively accomplish assigned functions.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental requirements as outlined in applicable standards, regulations, and/or technical orders.
  • Knowledge of program planning and budgeting cycles, financial control and budget systems, and management; and of environmental principles, practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and current legislative issues.
  • Ability to plan, conduct, and record site/facility surveys and inspections; research, analyze, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, and procedures to a variety of situations and to recommend timely and economical solutions; plan and organize work and coordinate with other engineering disciplines and architects; and to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and maintain good working relations.
  • Skill in using office software applications and the Internet to support the distinguished visitor program.
