The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a full-time Electrical Engineer (NH-0850-III) to work at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado. Located in beautiful Colorado Springs, Schriever SFB is home to a variety of US Space Force space operations and missile defense missions. We are seeking an electrical engineer to power the US Space Force mission!
Member will serve as a professional electrical engineer, performing design, project programming and construction management/monitoring duties in support of a military installation. Major duties include planning and design work for substantial multi-phase new construction, renovations, repair and improvement projects for real property facilities and infrastructure. Manage projects for new construction, renovations, and improvements to real property facilities and maintain surveillance over construction contractors utilizing a professional knowledge of electrical engineering and knowledge of other engineering and architecture disciplines.
Salary $91,870 - $142,022
Up to 25% Travel (typical 5-7 days per year)

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET Security Clearance.
- The employee must meet the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA)requirements applicable to the duties of the position. The selectee will have up to 24 months to meet the applicable mandatory experience, education, and training requirements.
- Professional knowledge of electrical engineering concepts, principles, and practices and familiarity with architectural and other engineering disciplines.
- Knowledge of a broad range of engineering and construction standards, methods, practices, and techniques, materials, and equipment to determine compliance with federal, state, and local codes and regulations; of standard contracting regulations, practices, and procedures as it relates to facilities engineering; knowledge of health, safety, and environmental requirements as outlined in applicable standards, regulations, and/or technical orders; of environmental principles, practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and current legislative issues; of work classifications and the regulatory and statutory restrictions on the expenditures of appropriated and non-appropriated funds.
- Knowledge of automated data processing concepts, systems capabilities, and economic usage to effectively accomplish assigned functions; and knowledge of program planning and budgeting cycles, financial control and budget systems and management.
- Knowledge of aesthetic and functional design techniques and skill in preparing project documentation, to include preliminary drawings, sketches, and construction drawings; and technique / skill in drafting sufficient to convey design concepts and ideas and formulate working drawings.
- Ability to plan, conduct and record site/facilities surveys and inspection; to analyze, interpret, and apply results, rules, regulations, and procedures in a variety of situations and recommend timely and economical solutions.
- Ability to plan and organize work and coordinate with other engineering disciplines and architects.
- 3-5 years’ experience requested.
