Trion, a subsidiary of Air Distribution Technologies, Inc., is seeking an Application Engineer to join the their team in Sanford, NC. The Application Engineer combines technical product knowledge with sales prowess to fulfill our customer’s needs. You will perform a full range of applications and technical support functions including specification interpretation, product selection, proposal development, quoting, and customer product technical support.

- Assist sales managers/reps in assessing ability to meet customer’s specifications and needs.
- Gather engineering data as it pertains to a specific project.
- Provide technical support and information to customers and reps.
- Provide quotes for customers by preparing accurate pricing for a project after gathering necessary information.
- Review engineering drawings, analyze design, and retrieve information to complete the drawing or layout. Create system/product submittal drawings using AutoCAD or Solidworks when required.
- Works with a team of technical support and application engineers to provide resolutions to customers either for troubleshooting current equipment or sizing and quoting new equipment via phone, email, CRM, etc.
- Reviews project scope/submittal and identify equipment requirements.
- Develop technical documents to support technical support and sales.
- Provide technical direction for other engineers, drafters or technicians on specific projects.
- Be proficient at preparing, checking, and coordinating the release of documentation to support Custom and Standard equipment.
- Bachelor’s degree or Associate degree with relevant experience in Engineering or related field. Able to relate to people at all levels, communicating both on a technical and non-technical basis.
- Demonstrated interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Minimum of three years of commercial sales experience or prior experience as a sales engineer.
- Experience with air filtration, HVAC, and Indoor Air Quality products is desired.
- Software experience and competency should include Microsoft applications, such as, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience AutoCAD and/or Solidworks are a plus.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to travel by auto, plane, train; some travel is required. Approximately three times per year.
