Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Expeditor role based in Ashburn, VA. The Expeditor coordinates the flow of food and supplies between the kitchen, packaging, and dispatch teams to ensure orders are prepared, assembled, and delivered on time and according to client specifications. Responsibilities include verifying order details, checking quality and presentation, monitoring production schedules, and communicating order status and changes to kitchen staff, drivers, and customer service. The Expeditor helps maintain inventory accuracy for catering items, supports proper labeling and documentation, and ensures adherence to safety, hygiene, and aviation catering standards. The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional team members to resolve issues quickly and maintain efficient operations in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Experience in food service, catering, hospitality, or aviation operations, with the ability to coordinate multiple orders and deadlines.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, including attention to detail and accuracy in checking orders and documentation.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate with kitchen staff, dispatch, drivers, and customer service.
- Basic computer and data-entry skills for managing order systems, inventory checks, and reporting.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene practices, and handling procedures; willingness to follow company and regulatory guidelines.
- Ability to stand, walk, lift, and move catering items throughout a shift, and work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Prior experience in an expeditor, dispatcher, or coordinator role is preferred; aviation catering experience is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent; flexible schedule availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
