Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Combination HVAC Start-Up & Service Technician to join our field service team. This dual-function role combines commercial/industrial HVAC service with dedicated equipment start-up support for Mechanical Reps (MRi), a leading HVAC equipment representative.

In the service capacity, the technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of large-scale HVAC systems across commercial and light industrial facilities. In the MRi start-up capacity, this individual conducts field installation verifications, performs factory start-ups, delivers owner training, and executes warranty work for the equipment MRi sells.

The ideal candidate brings strong mechanical, electrical, and controls expertise and thrives both working independently on service calls and collaborating with the MRi start-up team on new equipment commissioning. Experience with HVAC controls is a plus.

Field Service & Maintenance

  • Perform service, preventative maintenance, inspections, and overhauls on boilers, pumps, motors, VFDs, AHUs, FCUs, cooling towers, and HVAC systems
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control system issues
  • Repair and replace defective components.
  • Perform refrigerant handling in full compliance with EPA regulations
  • Conduct advanced diagnostics, pipefitting, brazing, and system repairs
  • Analyze system data, trends, and control performance for optimization
  • Download and configure system programs and controllers

  • Perform factory start-up procedures for equipment sold by Mechanical Reps (MRi), including Pumps, Boilers, Fans, Variable Frequency Drives, Cooling Towers, Air Handling Units, DOAS Units, Packaged Rooftop Units, VRF Systems, and Humidifiers.
  • Troubleshoot commissioning issues in coordination with the MRi start-up team and equipment manufacturers
  • Deliver owner/operator training on new equipment — covering proper operation, maintenance schedules, and control interfaces
  • Execute warranty service and repairs for MRi-represented equipment within the warranty period
  • Serve as a knowledgeable field liaison between MRi, installing contractors, and end customers
Customer & Team Support
  • Build strong customer relationships and communicate service findings and start-up results clearly
  • Educate customers on system operation and maintenance best practices
