Job Description:
As an Operations & Accounting Support Specialist, you will support Nelson & Company's efforts to ensure the financial health of the company and the quality of service to our customers. You'll work inside the office handling invoicing, legal document filing, and a range of coordination and back-office activities that keep the business running accurately and on time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Processing invoices and other accounting items accurately and in a timely manner
- Following up with customers on open and overdue invoices in pursuit of payments
- Filing legal documents including Notices to Owners (NTOs) and related construction documentation
- Supporting coordination and back-office activities across the operations team
- Maintaining organized records and tracking deadlines
- Assisting with job cost tracking and project-related documentation as needed
- Supporting management and operations personnel with administrative projects and reporting
Experience and Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
- Six months or more of invoicing experience using QuickBooks
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Sum, Average, Count, Max, and Min functions
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage details and meet deadlines consistently
- Construction industry accounting experience, including lien process knowledge
- Familiarity with job cost accounting and the percentage completion method
