Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair VRF systems, including refrigerant piping, electrical connections, and control wiring, following schematics and technical manuals.
- Conduct routine maintenance on HVAC equipment such as boilers, air conditioning units, and refrigeration systems to ensure peak operation.
- Read and interpret HVAC schematics, blueprints, and design documents to accurately execute system installations and repairs.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using tools like ohmmeters and other testing devices; perform equipment repairs efficiently.
- Perform plumbing tasks related to refrigerant lines and water supply systems associated with HVAC units.
- Assist with HVAC design modifications or upgrades based on client needs or system improvements.
- Maintain detailed service records, reports, and logs of all work performed; communicate effectively with team members and clients regarding system status or required repairs.
- Operate field service vehicles safely while adhering to all safety protocols; ensure compliance with local codes and regulations related to ammonia refrigeration or HVAC/R systems.
Skills
- Proven experience as a service technician in HVAC, refrigeration, or property maintenance roles.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of HVAC systems, including VRF technology, boilers, air conditioning units, and appliance repair.
- Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals accurately.
- Skilled in plumbing techniques related to refrigerant piping and water systems; welding experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with HVAC design principles and the use of diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters for equipment troubleshooting.
- Experience working with ammonia refrigeration systems or HVAC/R equipment is highly desirable.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to operate field service vehicles safely.
- Knowledge of electrical components, wiring practices, and safety standards related to mechanical maintenance.
- Ability to perform welding tasks or boiler maintenance as needed; mechanical mechanic experience is advantageous.
