Carrier’s air conditioning products.  Originally founded on the strength of our design, engineering, and installation capabilities, we quickly grew to be a company that recognized the importance of quality maintenance programs and service.  In the 1960’s our formal ties with The Carrier Corporation were dissolved and we became a fully independent contractor, focusing on heating, ventilation and air conditioning contracting and specifically service, preventive maintenance, retrofit projects, equipment replacements and design/build projects. POSITION OVERVIEW:

Our Accounting Department is seeking a full-time Regional Senior Accountant to play a crucial role in the company’s financial operations. This role will assist in establishing proper accounting procedures and help our department reach financial reporting objectives. This role will also be in support of two other companies tucked into Air Comfort (light travel required).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

People & Leadership:

Serve as a backup to various Accounting functions

Establish and maintain employee onboarding/offboarding

Support payroll processing

Review and approve Accounts Payable check runs

Accounting Policies and Procedures:

Maintaining and improving internal financial controls and procedures

Oversee the processes of the Accounting Department and create documented process and procedures

Ensuring day to day accounting functions are carried out accurately and efficiently

Financial Reporting:

Meeting the financial close deadline (currently a 5-day close)

Calculate monthly service and construction sales commissions and prepare statements

Prepare and enter monthly journal entries and reconcile various accounts

Prepare and manage Fixed Asset depreciation calculations and roll forward

Review Bad Debt Write Offs and adjust salesman commissions in real time

Perform weekly bank reconciliation

Union benefits reporting and filing

Prepare and manage lease amortization entries related to Fleet purchases

Inventory Management:

Establish and document process & procedures

Reconciliation to the general ledger

Coordinate annual physical count and rotating truck counts

Additional tasks:

Serve as a backup to Payroll

Prepare and file monthly sales/Use Tax returns

Assist in audit preparation

QUALIFICATIONS:

Accounting Degree (Required)

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook

Previous related work experience or education

Strong organizational, communication and analytical skills

Familiarity with accounting software is a plus

Salary Range: $70-$90k
