Assists customers in placing orders across all sections within the Arts and Crafts Center. Maintains security of all merchandise, equipment and funds assigned to the facility. Provides professional customer service, answers telephone calls and emails, disseminating information to the appropriate section, and assists shop users with craft skills development and work procedures. Assists manager with daily deposits, placing/receiving supply orders, and inventory reports and assists with inventories. Maintains clean, neat, and safe work environment. Operates resale activity. Performs over-the-counter selling of a variety of merchandise which may include but is not limited to novelty gifts, and other miscellaneous items. Performs housekeeping duties in sales and storage areas. Maintains the appropriate cost of goods on all resale items. Provides Quality Customer Service. Positively interacts with all customers (e.g. greets and offers assistance). Resolves customer complaints and problems. Informs flight chief or manager of any major customer problems and concerns. Implements funds control and handling functions. Ensures sufficient resources are available to meet requirements. Ensures adequate resource protection. Maintains clean, neat and safe work area. Performs other duties and assists facility supervisor as requested.

Qualifying Experience
Experience of responsible office work of any kind in which the applicant has demonstrated the ability to perform satisfactorily at the grade level of the position. In addition to the above requirement, applicant is required to demonstrate possession of an adequate degree of proficiency in typing methods using word processing equipment. Requires continuous standing, walking or stooping. May work uncommon work schedule, including weekends. Must be able to must be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing and figure basic math and measurements. Must have a clear speaking voice and be able to deal with the public.
Condition(s) of Employment: Successful completion and favorable adjudication of applicable background investigation (Tier 1 Level) is required. Must be physically able to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds. Must be able to obtain a pre-employment physical.

Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements.
