Job Title: Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Lead
Department or Division: Production
Reports To: Operation’s Manager or Production Manager
Job Summary
The function of the CNC Lead provides hands-on leadership ensuring production goals are achieved safely, efficiently and to high quality standards. This role requires extensive experience in operating a CNC Machine, and the ability to train and mentor other operators.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Setup, program, operate and troubleshoot CNC
- Oversee organization of entire CNC department
- Meet tolerance requirements by using supplied gauges
- Perform regular maintenance and assist with necessary repairs on CNC
- Coordinate with other departments in the plant
- Use safe procedures to perform all tasks
- Recognize material types and adjust equipment accordingly.
- Identify worn tooling and change in machines as required.
- Operate lift equipment as needed
- Report defective materials, discrepancies, and process malfunctions.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Degree/GED or equivalent
- Experienced in the use of hand and power tools
- Knowledgeable of G & M codes
- Basic math skills for machining application
- Forklift operation experience
- 3 years of experience with 1 year of supervisory experience
- Use of MasterCam to adjust programs
- Familiar with CNC (Thermwood)
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of CNC experience in manufacturing and leading a team
- Ability to express technical information to subordinates, and superiors
- Must be able to speak, write and understand English
- Assist subordinates with trouble shooting
Location
This position will be based at our Creedmoor, NC headquarters.
Terms of Employment
This is a full-time, non-exempt, hourly position.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. Work is regularly performed in a warehouse environment.

The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, and/or walk. The employee is occasionally required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and reach with arms or hands. The employee must occasionally lift, carry, push or pull up to 80 pounds.
