What are the responsibilities and job description for the LOGISTICS SPECIALIST position at Air Capitol Delivery & Warehouse?
• Dispatch and manage OTR drivers across multiple regions
• Plan and optimize loads, routes, and network coverage to maximize revenue and minimize deadhead
• Source freight using primarily dedicated customer relationships
• Proactively assign loads based on driver availability, HOS, and market conditions
• Monitor driver Hours of Service (HOS) and ensure FMCSA compliance
• Maintain consistent, professional communication with drivers
• Track loads from pickup through delivery and ensure service expectations are met, updating customers of any potential issues
• Coordinate appointments, breakdowns, weather delays, and reroutes in real time
• Collaborate with brokers, customers, and internal teams to resolve issues quickly
• Maintain accurate data in the TMS (currently Loadstop)
• Analyze lanes and market trends to improve efficiency and profitability
• Support a positive driver experience to improve retention
Qualifications:• 2 years of OTR dispatch and/or load planning experience
• Strong understanding of HOS and FMCSA regulations
• Experience with ELDs and TMS platforms
• Ability to manage multiple drivers and loads in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience managing or planning for 35 trucks
• Familiarity with DAT, Truckstop, or other load boards
• Knowledge of freight markets and lane optimization strategies
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
