Position Summary
We are looking for a Building Automation Technician with hands-on experience in Niagara frameworks and vendor-specific controllers. This role focuses on installation, programming, commissioning, and support of BAS projects ranging from new construction to complex retrofits.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, program, and commission Niagara-based BAS systems
- Configure and program ABB, Distech, and Siemens controllers
- Develop graphics, alarms, trends, and schedules in Niagara
- Perform system startup, point-to-point checkout, and functional testing
- Troubleshoot controller, network, and field device issues
- Integrate third-party systems using BACnet, Modbus, and IP-based protocols
- Support retrofit projects and legacy system migrations
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and customers
- Provide on-site training and post-installation support
- Maintain clear documentation and service reports
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in building automation or HVAC controls
- Practical experience with Niagara (N4 preferred)
- Experience working with at least one of the following:
- ABB building automation systems
- Distech Controls (ECY, ECB, Allure, etc.)
- Siemens (Desigo, PX, or Apogee exposure)
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems and sequences of operation
- Familiarity with BACnet/IP, BACnet MS/TP, and Modbus
- Ability to read and interpret control drawings and wiring diagrams
- Valid driver’s license and ability to work on job sites
Preferred Qualifications
- Niagara Certification (Technical or higher)
- Experience with multi-vendor integrations and system expansions
- Networking fundamentals (IP addressing, VLANs, switches)
- Experience with graphics and UX standards in Niagara
- Associate degree or technical certification in HVAC, controls, or electronics
