Position Overview:

AIPAC’s Washington, D.C. office is seeking a Manager of Prospect Research to play a key role in the organization’s donor prospect research program. This role is responsible for developing and managing prospect research operations, pipeline tracking, and prospect management systems across the organization’s CRM and engagement platforms. The Manager will conduct extensive qualitative and quantitative research and deliver actionable reports and insights to front-line development staff to support donor acquisition efforts, working collaboratively with regional managers to ensure research priorities are aligned with the organization’s development goals.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Prospect Research

  • Conduct in-depth research on prospective major donors, including wealth assessments, philanthropic interests, giving history, and relationship mapping/sphere of influence.
  • Deliver detailed, actionable research reports and insights to front-line development staff to enhance donor acquisition and engagement efforts.
  • Leverage publicly available political and civic engagement data to surface new prospects and enrich profiles of both new and existing donors' community ties and philanthropic capacity.
  • Stay current on trends and best practices in major gifts fundraising and prospect research.
  • Execute batch wealth screenings and predictive modeling on membership rosters, event attendee lists, and campaign contributor files to identify and prioritize new prospects at scale.

 

Analysis & Reporting

  • Conduct regular evaluations of internal prospect management and research programs and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Maintain and manage the organization’s prospect management, tracking, and pipeline systems across CRM and engagement platforms.
  • Analyze and synthesize data to identify patterns and trends that inform fundraising strategies.
  • Ensure data integrity and accessibility for development team.

 

Strategy & Collaboration

  • Continuously monitor developments related to ultra-high-net-worth donors and prospects, proactively identifying relevant and useful opportunities for fundraisers to engage.
  • Partner with the development team and regional managers to identify appropriate cultivation and solicitation opportunities.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all research activities.
  • Train and support regional managers and development officers on interpreting research findings, navigating CRM prospect tools, and fielding self-service research requests to build organization-wide research fluency.

 

Qualifications & Skills:

  • At least 4 years of experience in prospect research or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and research skills, with experience using a variety of prospect research tools; experience using creative research methods.
  • Experience using specialized publications (podcasts, newsletters, trade press), industry news sources, and open-source intelligence techniques to surface and qualify major gift prospects.
  • Familiarity with utilizing professional and social networks to surface warm introduction pathways and high-potential prospects.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Curious, self-motivated, and eager to take on complex research projects.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to synthesize large amounts of data into concise, actionable reports.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable experience utilizing AI to enhance research efficiency and output.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce is a plus.
  • Knowledge of fundraising principles and best practices, particularly in principal giving, major gifts and political fundraising.
  • Familiarity with the pro-Israel community and its philanthropic and political activities a plus.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the organization’s mission and values.

 

AIPAC is offering a competitive market base salary between $80,000.00 and $125,000.00 for the position. A job offer within the range will depend on how closely a candidate’s skills and experience match the role’s requirements. AIPAC also offers a competitive and comprehensive benefits package that contributes to employees’ overall total compensation package.

Note that we currently follow a hybrid schedule with three days in our offices and two days working remotely.
