What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Attorney position at Aionios LLC?
Location: Lanham, MD (hybrid — 3 days in office preferred)
Experience: 3–5 years
Our client, a highly credentialed plaintiff's personal injury attorney with a long record of trial success and peer recognition, is seeking an associate to join a busy Maryland and DC litigation practice. This opportunity is ideal for a litigator who wants real courtroom experience early — with hands-on mentorship from an attorney known for developing legal talent.
What You'll Work On:
- Conduct legal research on personal injury matters in Maryland and DC
- Draft lawsuits, discovery responses, motions, oppositions, memoranda, and briefs
- Meet with clients and manage client relationships
- Take and defend depositions
- Argue motions in court
- Try cases as second chair — and solo, with case size scaled to your experience
What We're Looking For:
- 3–5 years of litigation experience, with the ability to litigate and try personal injury cases
- Admission to the Maryland Bar (required)
- Admission to the DC Bar, or willingness to gain admission
- Excellent organizational, oral advocacy, and writing skills
- Empathy, energy, a sense of humor, and a commitment to first-rate work
- A car (travel between courts and client meetings)
- Experience with a legal publication or trial advocacy coursework a plus, but not required
Why This Role Stands Out:
- Direct mentorship from an accomplished, award-winning trial attorney
- Genuine trial experience — including solo trial opportunities, not just second-chair work
- A firm culture that values quality of life and relationships — explicitly not a sweatshop
- Hybrid schedule with flexibility to work from home 2 days per week
- Metro-accessible office convenient to the DC Beltway
Benefits:
Full-time position with negotiable benefits and competitive compensation.
Civil defense attorneys looking to switch sides are encouraged to apply — strict confidentiality will be maintained throughout the process. If you're ready to build a real trial practice with a mentor invested in your growth, we'd love to hear from you.
Salary : $95,000 - $150,000
