Job Overview:
The Registered Nurse will provide professional nursing services in collaboration with other healthcare personnel at Andrew Rader U.S. Army Health Clinic (ARHC), Fort Myer, Virginia. Services include direct patient care, clinical documentation, care coordination, patient education, and other nursing activities required to support outpatient operations while complying with DoD, DHA, MTF, infection-control, safety, and quality requirements.
Key Duties:
- Provide safe, professional nursing care within the RN's authorized scope of practice.
- Assess and monitor patients and coordinate care with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Educate patients and use appropriate adult-education techniques.
- Work effectively in a multidisciplinary, team-oriented clinical environment.
- Maintain strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Follow DHA/MTF requirements for patient safety, quality assurance, infection control, and clinical operations.
Qualifications
Education/Experience – Must meet ONE pathway:
BSN: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing 1 year experience; OR
ADN: Associate Degree in Nursing 2 years experience; OR
Diploma: Diploma Certificate in Nursing 3 years experience.
BSN: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing 1 year experience; OR
ADN: Associate Degree in Nursing 2 years experience; OR
Diploma: Diploma Certificate in Nursing 3 years experience.
Licensure: Current, active, valid, and unrestricted RN license from any U.S. state, District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or U.S. jurisdiction.
Certification: Current BLS – American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Schedule:
- 40 hours per week
- Monday through Friday
- Typical shifts are 6:30 AM–3:00 PM, 7:30 AM–4:30 PM, or 9:00 AM–6:00 PM
- Meal break: 30 minutes to 1 hour, unpaid, depending on the assigned schedule
- Federal holidays: ARHC Registered Nurses are not required to work on federal holidays.
Work Environment:
This is primarily an outpatient Army health clinic environment at Fort Myer. The RN works closely with other healthcare professionals and military treatment facility staff to provide patient care and maintain efficient clinic operations. Situational telework may only be authorized during qualifying unplanned facility closures and according to mission requirements.
Salary : $50 - $55
