MEDICAL OFFICE RECEPTIONIST JOB DESCRIPTION
Greet patients and other visitors upon arrival
Handle all patient related incoming calls, voicemails, faxes and emails
Place outgoing calls to patients or other facilities as needed
Knowledgeably and fluently describe AIMS Institute therapies, programs, and Providers with confidence and enthusiasm to patients
Process non insurance covered service payments/payments on account
Scan, fax and upload patient care related documents to patient EHR file
Check patients in and out of office
Optimizes patients’ satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by strategically scheduling appointments in accordance with protocol and procedure
Notify provider of patient’s arrival
Review weekly schedule in advance to ensure all documents have been completed, insurance has been verified and front and back of insurance card has been uploaded to the system, ensure current credit card information has been uploaded into the system and to determine which patients need time of service or incident to service billing considerations based on their insurance coverage
Handle patient related task assigned in EHR system
Assist Billers with insurance and billing issues (ie verifying insurance information, securing copies of insurance cards) Weekly review of claims and submission to RCM
Keep office staff abreast of scheduling or rooming concerns and potential service delays
Follow all HIPAA guidelines and procedures to protect patients’ right of confidentiality
Help respond to medical emergencies, if necessary
Schedule patient related package pickups and receive all shipments and deliveries
Maintains operations by following policies and procedures, reporting needed changes.
Submit claims to RCM - Weekly
Other duties as assigned by management
