What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Welding Inspector position at Aimic Inc?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Include the following (other duties may be assigned):
- Perform visual inspections of structural steel fabrication, welding and bolting.
- Perform material identification, verification and sampling of unidentified steel
- Prepare reports and other related documents in accordance with good engineering practices and applicable building codes
- Communicate and document discrepancies in work inspected to steel shop and field crews and to SALEM engineers.
- Complete appropriate documentation in a timely and accurate manner
- Understand and utilize safe working practices
Preferred Certifications
- CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) Certification
- ICC Structural Steel & Welding Special Inspector and ICC Structural Steel & Bolting Special Inspector certifications are a plus
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of welding inspection experience preferred
- CWI and ICC certifications maintained current and in good standing
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
- Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite to submit reports on company templates
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work off ladders and scaffold at construction sites
- English speaking, reading and writing required
