Job Title: Attorney

Location: Nashville, TN 37243 (Hybrid; office/remote schedule)

Contractors may be expected to assist in either Litigation or Legal Review based on workload demands.
During active client assignments, selected attorneys may be prohibited from practicing law outside their current duties due to potential conflicts of interest. Ensure candidates are informed.
Position Overview:
The Legal Review Attorney unit seeks additional support to manage an influx of eligibility appeals. This role ensures compliance with federal timelines while maintaining high-quality work.
Key Responsibilities:
Appeals Research & Review (25%): Evaluate cases in the Tennessee Eligibility Determination System (TEDS) and make factual dispute determinations.
Policy Mastery (25%): Acquire and maintain comprehensive knowledge of Medicaid statutes, regulations, and policies.
Case Monitoring (25%): Review and track appeals to ensure compliance with Medicaid laws and regulations.
Issue Identification & Resolution (25%): Identify issues impacting eligibility determinations and propose solutions.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited institution
Active Tennessee law license
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and meet deadlines
Sound judgment and decision-making abilities
Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and workload management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to interpret and apply public policy
Proficiency with multiple computer systems and applications
Desirable Qualifications:
Experience with eligibility appeals procedures
Previous legal review experience
