CASUAL POSITION

Responsible to: Community Participation Supervisor

Community Participation Support Professional provides opportunities and support for community inclusion and building interest in and developing skill and potential for competitive integrated employment. Often volunteer work in the community is a part of the community participation support focus as a means to building on or enhancing work skills.

Specific Duties:

1. Supports the integration of individuals in the community. Accompany participants to community experiences to provide skill training and mentoring to enhance participation and inclusion.
2. Develop and solidify community connections and experiences for program participants.
3. Help the participants engage in community activities, organizations, groups, associations or clubs to develop social networks.
4. Help participants increase their learning experience.
5. Complete required daily documentation.
6. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Community Participation Professional plays a critical role in the overall success of our CPS program.  As “natural role models” CPS Professional must have the following personal qualifications:

The minimum professional qualifications for Community Participation Support Professional is an Associate's Degree in Human Services and/or 1 year of Human Service work experience or High School diploma and at least 2 years work experience in the field.

   Must be 21 years old or older.
2. 
   Autonomy – ability to work without immediate supervision.
3. 
   Interpersonal sensitivity (objective awareness of others, tactful interaction, ease in establishing limits).
4. 
   Valid - active driver’s license and the ability to drive a van.
5. 
   CPS certification.
6. 
   CPR, First Aid and AED.
7. 
   Must clear ACT 33, 34 and 73 (criminal clearance) and clear sexual abuse background clearance.
