What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Center Customer Service Associate position at AIM?
AIM Mail Center is a small-town shipping store with super friendly staff and customers. We have been in business since 1991 and have many loyal customers. We provide an assortment of shipping solutions to meet any shipping need and our customers budget. We provide in store services such as mailbox rentals, copy, fax, scan, email, laminating, printing, shredding, notary, passport photos and fingerprinting.
Hours of Operation: Monday through Friday 8:30am-6:30pm, Saturdays 9am-5pm, and Sundays 10am-3pm. Closed on the following Holidays: New Year’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day
Job Duties: AIM Mail Center in Sebastopol has an opening for a customer service associate. It is a fun atmosphere with an amazingly friendly customer base. Responsible for providing excellent customer service to our customers.
- Assist with copying, faxing, printing, emailing, laminating and shredding documents
- Open new mailboxes & close mailboxes per customer requests
- Receive, sort and process mail and packages for mailbox customers
- Take passport photos to specification
- Process letter and package shipments
- Use point-of-sale computer system to check out customers, process cash, check and credit card transactions
- Keep front of store clean and fully stocked
- Must be friendly, energetic and empathetic; as there is considerable face to face interaction with customers.
- The work is often fast-paced and varied. It requires the candidate to master a number of procedures/skills.
- Attention to detail is also an important part of the job, due to the critical nature of the work.
- Must have proficient computer skills.
Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
- Razor sharp attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task while remaining organized and focused on priorities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be punctual and dependable
- Prior experience in packing and shipping preferred, but not required
- Notary Commission preferred, but not required. We will provide initial and ongoing training to the right person. Note: In order to qualify for this you must be 18 years old, a legal resident of California, not have been convicted of a felony, not have been convicted of a disqualifying misdemeanor
Physical Requirements
- Required to walk and/or stand up to 8 hours per day
- Lift and/or carry items and packages up to 50 pounds
Pay: $18.21 - $19.00 per hour
