We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Kitchen Manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in continuing operations and future growth.
Position Overview:
The Kitchen Manager will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality food, and maintaining guest satisfaction. This role is instrumental in implementing best practices from our existing restaurant portfolio and establishing new processes for The Weather Room.
Key Responsibilities:
- Kitchen Operations:
- Oversee daily kitchen activities to ensure efficient and consistent food preparation.
- Manage ordering of kitchen ingredients, supplies, and disposables.
- Monitor food quality, presentation, and portion control to maintain high standards.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop and refine menu items that reflect our modern Mexican fusion concept.
- Staff Management:
- Recruit, train, and mentor kitchen staff to ensure a skilled and cohesive team.
- Schedule kitchen staff, manage shifts, and oversee labor costs to optimize productivity.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to promote growth and development.
- Budget and Cost Control:
- Monitor food costs, inventory levels, and wastage to keep expenses in line with budgetary targets.
- Implement strategies to reduce costs without compromising on quality or service.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food hygiene standards and kitchen cleanliness.
- Implement and enforce proper food handling, storage, and disposal practices.
- Menu Development and Innovation:
- Work closely with the General Manager and Food & Beverage Director to innovate and refresh the menu based on seasonal ingredients and customer feedback.
- Prepare accurate and consistent recipes to maintain profitability while offering value to guests.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff and management to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, suppliers, and stakeholders to maintain strong relationships.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Kitchen Manager or similar role in a high-volume restaurant setting.
- Strong knowledge of modern American cuisine and culinary techniques.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Proficient in cost control and inventory management.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations and compliance standards.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
