Visual Merchandiser

Aimé Leon Dore is looking for a Visual Merchandiser to join the team in Los Angeles, reporting directly to Store Management and The Head of Retail. This position will be responsible for delivering a premium customer experience, employee experience and implementing programs & processes to ensure the successful operation of the LA flagship.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Visual Merchandising:
• • Ensure in store VM strategy is in line with brand values, product availability, calendar releases, and target marketing.
  • Installing and setting up window displays, walkways, counters, and in-store displays, or supervising contractors hired for this purpose.
  • Changing displays to promote new product launches or to reflect festive or seasonal themes.
  • Make sure the entire retail staff is dressed on par with the brand.
  • Lead vintage watch curation / jewelry offering instore based on brand values and in store performance
  • Walkthrough retail spaces and ensure that all retail maintenance has been flagged to the appropriate parties to fix any VM issues like (broken fixtures, ripped rugs, ventilation issues, loose brass hardware)
  • Develop a close relationship with the marketing department to provide a consistent and focused link between marketing & P.R. activity and the stores
  • Contribute to all VM components for special projects, partnerships, or pop ups.

• Operations:
• • Concept and deliver on all retail VM Briefs and lead all walkthroughs for the Executive team.
  • Develop a close relationship with the Operations Supervisor to provide a consistent and focused link between visual merchandising and operations of the store.
  • Finalizing designs and creating detailed floor plans for display areas.
  • Sourcing the props, creative materials, and accessories for displays.
  • Have an in-depth understanding of each of our retail locations in terms of high velocity areas, conversion in different areas of the store, etc.
  • Monitoring costs and working within budget.
  • Maintain organization of all VM props / storage units.

• Concepting / R&D:
  • Generating sketches of visual displays that meet the store's visual design requirements
  • Researching lifestyle and design trends that will inform the visual merchandising strategy.
  • Plan retail visits to better understand what the rest of the market is doing in terms of visual merchandising
  • Build decks on new VM initiatives and execute fully on all approved ideas
• Retail Training / Continuous Improvement
  • Exhibit a high degree of professional maturity and lead by example
  • Create team spirit and cultivate an environment where team members are recognized as valued contributors to the overall success of the flagship
  • Assist with retail onboarding, recruitment, and training in the scope of visual merchandising / store standards.
  • Lead education around our new Deliveries / Vintage and Jewelry offerings
  • Manage and assign responsibilities to the assistant visual merchandiser

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2-3 years experience in Visual Merchandising
• Extensive experience and abilities to lead the delivery of high level customer service
• Excellent communication, collaboration skills as well as good decision making abilities in high pressure situations
• Ability to support conflict resolution
• Schedule Flexibility

Salary Range: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
