Job Description and Responsibilities:
- Create curriculum for middle and high school digital arts/graphic design and video production
- Plan and execute weekly lesson plans
- Collaborate with other teachers/departments on interdepartmental projects
- Provide math support to students (Algebra 1 and lower)
- Engage in and support a classroom atmosphere where student feel safe, confident, and challenged
- Communicate and collaborate professionally with teammates
- Assist in homework rooms and support students with study skill development and management
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Knowledge and experience with digital drawing, painting, composition and the use of industry standard graphic design hardware and software. Ability to match instruction to varying student skill levels. Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop CC, Fuse CC, Character Animator, Felix, Illustrator CC, Unreal Engine and Mac OS X operating system
- Knowledge and experience with the fundamentals of film composition and industry standard video production techniques and design software. Proficiency with Adobe Premier Pro CC, Media Encoder CC, Fuse CC, Character Animator, Photoshop CC, Illustrator, Animate, Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, Unreal Engine and Mac OS X operating system
- Knowledge of math curriculum and concepts for Algebra 1 and lower
- Excellent communication, organization and time management skills
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
- Passion and commitment for teaching students with learning differences.
- Excellent professional conduct including organization, dependability, accuracy, and timeliness
- Experience teaching middle/high school students with language based learning disabilities beneficial, but not required
- State issued teaching certificate preferred, but not required
