Role Description The Human Resources Manager oversees the company's most valuable asset - its people. This full-time, on-site role based in Compton, CA includes managing HR policies and procedures, maintaining compliance with labor and employment regulations, and supporting employee relations and conflict resolution. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution, providing full-cycle Human Resources support across the organization. The HR Manager is responsible for the day-to-day administration of HR functions, policies, and procedures while fostering a positive, compliant, and high-performing workplace. The ideal candidate is accountable, proactive, trustworthy, level-headed, and respectful. They are highly organized, detail-oriented, an excellent communicator and listener, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism. With extensive expertise in employment law, employee relations, workplace culture, talent acquisition, learning and development, compensation, benefits, and payroll, the Human Resources Manager leads the HR team and supports employees throughout every stage of the employment lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in core HR functions such as recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations.
- Ability to administer HR policies and programs to ensure compliance in employee relations, staffing, recruitment, and termination, training and development, benefits, compensation, time and attendance record keeping, and personnel records administration
- Manage all aspects of the HR department including administration, legal compliance, policy and procedure enforcement
- Knowledge of employment law, labor regulations, HR compliance, and best practices in policy development and documentation.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to build trust at all levels of the organization.
- Background in logistics, transportation, or related industries is beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
- Ability to work on-site in Compton, CA and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
