JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the Girls Basketball Program.
- Develop a competitive varsity team while building a strong, aligned program across all levels (JV and feeder programs).
- Plan and conduct practices, implement game strategies.
- Supervise assistant coaches and coordinate offseason development.
- Schedule a full season of contests including State Tournament Games.
- Foster skills development, discipline, and sportsmanship among student-athletes.
- Dedicated to empowering student-athletes both on and off the Court.
- Instruct and guide student-athletes to lead them to the formulation and enhancement of moral values, pride of accomplishments, acceptable social behavior, and self-confidence.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of student-athletes.
- Cooperate, in a timely manner, with School Athletic Director and the District Athletic Department, in regard to requests for information that might periodically required.
- Meet all requirements set forth by the District Board of Education, The Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA), and The Ohio Department of Education (ODE) required for the mandated Coaches Tool Chest (CTC) Training/Certification and the ODE Pupil Activity Permit (PAP).
- Follow the District Athletic Department Policies as outlined in the Coaches Handbook and meet all criteria as outlined in the job description.
- Model the behavior expected of our student-athletes including timeliness to practices and games, being positive and enthusiastic, being respectful, and practicing constructive criticism while upholding the disciplines of the program.
- Maintain a suitable sideline conduct, including the use of appropriate language, at all times.
- Accept and profit from constructive criticism and suggestions for improving coaching performance.
- Be aware of, and implement, all applicable administrative polices set forth by the District Board of Education, Superintendents of Schools, School Principals, Conference Leagues, ODE, and OHSAA.
- Provide all applicable in-season training rules as well as any that may apply to out-of-season conduct to student-athletes prior to the start of the season. Follow appropriate due process procedures when violations occur.
- Participate in Clinics and other available programs to improve coaching performance.
- Participate in School events (i.e., Awards Night, Pep Assemblies, Athletic Boosters Meetings, etc.
- Ensure that team is well-prepared for opponents.
- Maintain accurate inventory of equipment and supplies.
- Additional responsibilities as needed.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Fundraising experience.Strong leader, effective communictor, and mentor.
- Commitment to academic accountability, character development, and creating a positive team culture that reflects the values of the School.
- Must be passionate and dedicated to inspire student-athletes.
- Previous coaching experience preferred.
- Have the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
- Serve as a positive role model.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills associated with the sport.
TRAINING/CERTIFICATIONS:
- Ohio Secondary Teaching Certificate preferred.
- Evidence of a successful past coaching experience required.
- Provide satisfactory result of County Police Records Check, State BCII Check, and a FBI Fingerprint Background Check.
- Possess an Ohio Department of Education (ODE) Pupil Activity Permit (PAP).
- Provide proof of completion of Coaches Tool Chest (CTC) Training/Certification.
CONTRACT PROVISIONS:
TYPE OF CONTRACT: Supplemental Annual Limited
SALARY: Per Schedule E Contract of current C.F.T. Labor Agreement
