FULL TIME NANNY in AIKEN, SC
A warm, active, and close-knit family located near downtown Aiken is seeking a professional, flexible, and highly dependable full-time caretaker for their two boys, ages 2.5 and 7, with household duties as well. This is a dynamic household that values structure, engagement, and outdoor activity. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and adaptable.
The schedule requires availability from 11:45 am – 7/8 pm Monday to Thursday with occasional Friday afternoons, occasional later evenings, and occasional overnight care with advance notice. The family offers a guaranteed 30-hour work week (negotiable) averaged over a two-week period. Flexibility is key, as the schedule may slightly shift based on school, activities, and seasonal needs.
Primary responsibilities include child-related care such as feeding, bathing, dressing, and supervision, as well as managing school and activity drop-offs and pickups. We envision this person also engaging in age-appropriate activities that support child development, including educational, creative, and outdoor play, and providing occasional reading support and homework assistance. The role also includes light meal preparation, family laundry, light housekeeping such as tidying and dishwasher maintenance, occasional errands including grocery shopping/ returns, and various tasks around the holidays. This is not a deep-cleaning role, as the family has a housekeeper.
The ideal candidate is dependable, responsible, patient, kind, and an excellent communicator. They are a self-starter who takes initiative, remains calm and adaptable in a fluid environment, is highly organized with the ability to multitask effectively, and open to feedback. A genuine passion for working with families along with an appreciation for structure, and maintaining a positive home environment, is essential.
All candidates should hold a college degree and have a minimum of 2 years of childcare experience with at least 2 children as well competence is household tasks. A valid U.S. driver’s license with a clean driving record and a reliable personal vehicle is required, along with comfort transporting children. Background check will be required.
Current CPR, First Aid, Tdap, and flu vaccinations are required, along with a willingness to sign a NDA and no-phone-while-driving agreement. The candidate must be a non-smoker and non-vaper.
The family offers mileage reimbursement (while working), two weeks of paid vacation (with 5 days aligning with the family’s schedule which is eligible after 3 months of employment), and paid major holidays when they are on a weekday. Compensation is competitive hourly pay commensurate with experience.
Qualifications
- BA/BS COLLEGE DEGREE | AA IN RELATED FIELD OF STUDY | OR A MINIMUM OF 2 YEARS OF PROFESSIONAL CHILDCARE EXPERIENCE with at least 2 children
- BACKGROUND CHECK REQUIRED
- UP TO DATE FIRST-AID & CPR CERTIFICATION (WILLINGNESS TO RENEW AS NEEDED)
- UP TO DATE FLU SHOT & TDAP (WILLINGNESS TO RENEW AS NEEDED)
