IT Security Analyst (Hybrid – Herndon, VA)

Hands-on security role protecting critical systems and data. Work onsite with real impact across security engineering, vulnerability testing, and compliance.

QUICK FACTS

• Location / Onsite-Hybrid: Herndon, VA – Onsite (minimum 3 days/week; up to 5 days as needed)
• Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week (Sunday–Saturday workweek)
• Duration / Contract Type: ~12 months (2,088 hours), contingent
• Citizenship / Clearance: Ability to obtain security clearance required

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to protect information systems and data
• Identify security risks and develop mitigation plans
• Implement and support security tools, controls, and architectures
• Perform infrastructure-level and application-level vulnerability testing and auditing
• Support system, network, and application security initiatives
• Assist with security compliance activities and documentation
• Support security awareness and training initiatives
• Collaborate with technical teams on secure design and implementation

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
• Hands-on experience in security engineering
• Strong experience with system and network security
• Experience with authentication mechanisms and security protocols
• Working knowledge of cryptography concepts and implementations
• Experience implementing security solutions in production environments
• Hands-on experience with vulnerability testing and security auditing
• Ability to work onsite in Herndon, VA at least 3 days/week (and up to 5 days as needed)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience evaluating and recommending new or emerging security tools
• Experience developing or delivering security training or awareness programs
• Experience interpreting or developing security policies and procedures
• Prior leadership or coordination experience on security initiatives

COMPLIANCE / ELIGIBILITY

• Ability to obtain security clearance required
• Onsite requirement: Must work onsite in Herndon, VA a minimum of 3 days per week and support up to 5 days if required
• Education required: Bachelor's degree in a technical field
• Clearance: Ability to obtain required
