What are the responsibilities and job description for the Licensed Practical Nurse position at AIEA HEIGHTS REST HOME, INCORPORATED?
We are looking for a reliable LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) to care for our residents in a professional and considerate manner. LPN professionals must be first and foremost qualified and compassionate. The ideal candidate will be experienced in providing diverse basic care to those who need it while remaining patient and calm. It is a demanding job but also very rewarding.
Aiea Heights Senior Living is a 22-bed adult residential care home located near the top of Aiea Heights Drive in Aiea with a beautiful view of the ocean.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Record residents’ medical history accurately
Take and record measurements of blood pressure, temperature, heart rate, etc.
Observe residents under treatment to identify progress, side-effects of medications, etc.
Monitor residents’ condition including fluid intake and output and compose resident charts.
Administer injections and prescribed medications, clean and dress wounds, and assist with other basic medical care tasks.
Collect samples for lab testing as assigned.
Provide emotional and psychological support when needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Licensed as an LPN in Hawaii.
Familiarity with health, safety, and sanitation standards and procedures.
Understanding of confidentiality obligations and nursing best practices.
Excellent knowledge of medical and hospital terminology.
Compassionate and caring demeanor.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
2-Step TB clearance or Chest X-ray (with prior positive result)
Fieldprint background check (criminal, adult protective services, and child abuse and neglect)
Current CPR/First Aid Certification
Medical clearance (within the past 12 months)
COVID-19 vaccination
Preferred:
One year experience with caring for elderly or disabled individuals
WORKING HOURS
12-hour shift, 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM, 2-3 days a week
PAY
Starting at $25 per hour, based on experience
Time and a half on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
