SEEKING IMMEDIATE HIRES!

Waialae Senior Living and Waialae Senior Living 2 are each 5-bed care homes located in town near UH Manoa. The care homes are located on different floors of the same building and the residents from the two homes interact with each other daily. We are looking for responsible, caring, and up-beat people to work as Nursing Assistants and Certified Nursing Assistants. We have supportive staff, clean facilities, and a low staff to resident ratio. Prior experience and certification preferred, however will consider applicants in process of certification.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Helping residents with activities of daily living (ADLs)
CNA/NAs are primarily responsible for helping residents with ADLs, such as bathing, grooming, toileting, eating, and moving.
Serving meals and helping residents eat
Ensuring that residents receive appropriate nutrition can include preparing meals, and, depending on the circumstances, assisting with eating.
Lifting and moving residents
CNA/NAs must be able to safely move residents into beds and wheelchairs. For bedridden residents, this may include turning or repositioning residents for comfort and prevention of bedsores.
Taking vital signs
CNA/NAs often measure a resident’s blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, and then record their findings and report them to a supervisor to determine whether action is necessary.
Maintaining a clean and sanitized environment
Depending on daily needs, this can involve changing soiled sheets, cleaning up spills, changing bedpans, setting up equipment, and reducing the spread of germs and infection in the residents’ living area.
Facilitating resident care
The daily direct contact you have with residents also gives you the opportunity to identify bruises, blood in urine, and other injuries and report them to medical staff who can initiate care.
Providing companionship and friendship
Since you’ll spend so much time with the residents, you’ll often have to provide compassion and comfort to those who are lonely, frustrated, or scared.

WORKING HOURS

We have three shifts for CNAs and NAs:

• 6 AM - 2:30 PM 
• 2 PM - 10:30 PM (immediate need)
• 10 PM - 6:30 AM (immediate need)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

• 2-Step TB Clearance or Chest X-ray (with prior positive result)
• Fieldprint background check (Criminal, adult protective services, and child abuse and neglect)
• Current CPR/First Aid Certification
• Medical clearance (within the past 12 months)
• COVID-19 Vaccination

Preferred:

• One year experience with caring for the elderly
• Completion of Nursing Assistant training program/school with certificate of completion

JOB TYPE: Full-time, Part-time, or Casual (PRN)

PAY

• Starting at $16 per hour
• $2 per hour differential for hours worked between 6 PM and 6 AM
• Time and a half on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas.
• Quarterly bonus for perfect attendance
