Plant Manager

The Plant Manager is responsible for the safety, quality, and productivity of the building. This position manages the daily activities of employees to achieve the company’s goals and objectives. This position is also responsible for ensuring that the facility meets expectations for production scheduling, inventory control, operating rate, and facility financial performance. The Plant Manager leads by proactively resolving employee issues, building teamwork, and ensuring adherence to all applicable company policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner.

Lagom approaches housing and neighborhood design as a connected system, with the goal of producing places that are financially practical, environmentally responsible, and genuinely desirable.

To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required.

• Provide effective, positive leadership to engage and motivate the production/support supervisors and hourly production/support employees.
• Plan, direct, and coordinate the manufacturing of products in compliance with company goals and objectives.
• Ability to analyze safety, quality, and productivity issues and execute timely corrective actions to address out-of-tolerance variances to plan.
• Ensure that inventory levels are accurate.
• Learn to set up various processing machinery.
• Promptly and accurately complete all reporting and administrative assignments.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized department.
• Ability to multi-task while dealing with multiple, competing priorities.
• Coordinate with the Maintenance Lead on the preventive and breakdown maintenance on equipment.
• Coach employees for the attainment of company and individual goals and objectives in accordance with Company guidelines and performance management system.
• Other duties as assigned by the Lagom Head of Operations.

• 3 – 5 years of experience in a management/supervisory role in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to use basic hand tools and measuring tools (calipers, scale, tape measure, etc.).
• Judgment, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
• Flexibility to learn, to accept new challenges, and to perform multiple roles.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Must maintain and carry a valid Alabama driver license and remain eligible and capable of operating company vehicles including automobiles and trucks in accordance with company policy guidelines.
