What are the responsibilities and job description for the Volunteer: Grant Research and Letter of Intent Drafting position at Aid Afghanistan For Education (AAFE)?
This is a volunteer opportunity provided by Taproot Foundation, a nonprofit creating social change through pro bono connections.
Identify relevant foundation prospects, draft targeted Letters of Inquiry, and create or refine an institutional grants pipeline tracker with recommended next steps. Specific prospect criteria, timelines, and materials will be discussed with the volunteer. We are looking for a volunteer who has 10 - 15 years of experience in grants and fundraising.
Securing foundation support will expand education access and sustain online English and computer classes so girls and vulnerable children in Afghanistan can continue learning and build a better future. Volunteer expertise will directly increase our ability to reach and support those learners.
We will collaborate with the volunteer through regular check-ins, share relevant program materials and grant history as available, and work with the volunteer to finalize LOIs and pipeline steps so the team can implement outcomes.
Aid Afghanistan For Education Mission: We bring the most vulnerable children—from the streets into classrooms—breaking the cycle of poverty and generational illiteracy through education, and provide online English and computer classes so girls barred from formal schooling can continue learning and build a better future.
