If end date is listed, the posting will come down at 12:00 am on that date: Tuesday May 23, 2023 About The Position Provide overall management of the 12 underground gas storage field assets of Ameren Illinois including the responsibility for managing field operations, construction and engineering. Manage the development and oversight of the capital and O&M budgets for storage field projects and coordinate the completion of these activities with engineering and field supervision staff. Develop the strategic plan for the storage fields which leverages the storage assets and positions Ameren Illinois storage operations to best meet its natural gas supply requirements. Key responsibilities include: Manage and direct a team of approximately 56 individuals consisting of supervisors, professionals, skilled workers, and support staff, with an overall annual budget responsibility of approximately $35M total consisting of $20M capital and $15M operation and maintenance expenditures. Manage the storage field operations which includes but is not limited to: well logging, remedial well work, and internal corrosion monitoring of wells, measurement equipment, compressors, dehydration systems, gas odorization, purification systems, and well activities. Manage gas storage engineering which evaluates and monitors gas storage field inventories; analyzes reservoir and well performance, and reservoir models; and annual adjustments to storage field inventories as required. Manage and implement initiatives to maintain and/or expand the deliverability and reliability of the Ameren gas storage assets. Coordinate with Gas Supply and Gas Control to create annual injection and withdrawal plans, establish the peak day deliverability of each of the storage fields and daily operations for system supply. Ensure achievement of performance results in the areas of safety and reliability. Manage the support for the completion of all storage field related data requests and gas storage related Illinois Commerce Commission testimony. Manage the completion of all storage related permitting and filings. Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in engineering required, preferably in Petroleum or Chemical engineering. Masters of Business Administration preferred. 5 years of Supervisory experience required. 10 years of relevant storage, engineering, or field operations experience required. Professional Engineering license preferred. In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate: Knowledge of Department of Transportation Part 192 code requirements. Knowledge of all aspects of Gas Storage engineering and operations including all aspects of gas storage facilities and reservoir/well management. Active participation in technical organizations such as American Gas Association, Society of Petroleum Engineers, Instrument Society of America, or National Association of Corrosion Engineers. Proven analytical skills, able to make sound decisions with ambiguous information and analyze complex data. Creative self-starter with strong interpersonal skills; able to work effectively as a team and with various stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Strong business sense and demonstrated ability to use good judgement. Excellent communication skills (verbal/written/presentation). Proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel, Ameren Corporate systems, budgeting, and financials required with a knowledge of reporting systems preferred. Working knowledge of the seven (7) union contracts associated with gas storage field operations. The ability to travel each month to field sites, including occasional overnight stays.
