Description
Work Hours:
Monday-Friday - normally between 8:00AM-5:00PM
Primary Role
Preparing and dispensing appropriate pharmaceuticals to patients, leading a team of pharmacy technicians and managing the overall day-to day pharmacy responsibilities. The job entails a high level of responsibility and knowledge.
Essential Job Functions
· Review and execute provider’s prescriptions checking their appropriateness and legality
· Organize the pharmacy in an efficient manner to make the identification of products easier and faster
· Maintain full control over medication inventory, stocking and labeling medicine and other products and monitor their condition to prevent expiring or deterioration
· Listen carefully to customers to interpret their needs and issues and offer information and advice
· Prepare medicine when appropriate using correct dosages and material for each individual patient
· Maintain patient profiles and history of all activities regarding medications dispensed
· Keep abreast and stay current with HIPAA and Frauds Waste and Abuse credentialing
· Comply with all applicable legal rules, regulations, and procedures
· Responsible for ensuring that the Pharmacy and its employees are compliant with Federal, State and Local laws regulated
· Ensures that the Pharmacy and its employees are aware and compliant with local facilities policies
· Responsible for directing the daily work of Pharmacy Technicians, this includes providing input into performance evaluations and advising Senior Management of any behavioral and/or performance issues
· Responsible for managing the Pharmacy Technicians schedules. This includes advising Senior Management of any request for leave of absences or medical accommodations
· Other duties as necessary

Required Education & Skills
· HS Diploma or equivalent
· Current License to practice (PharmD) in Texas
· Excellent oral, written skills
Experience
· Previous leadership role helpful
· Must be able to utilize Patient Management System in the Pharmacy
· Min 3-5 years retail pharmacy manager experience
Physical Requirements
· Standing for prolong periods of time
· Use of hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls
· Fine Motor Skills
