The Food Service Production Worker is responsible for preparing, serving, and selling food products in accordance with in-house and branded concept standards. This position ensures high-quality customer service, maintains cleanliness and safety standards, and assists in training part-time employees.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Customer Service & Sales
- Take customer orders and dispense products following portion control, product timing, and temperature guidelines.
- Setup & Operation
- Position and check required utensils, equipment, signage, and food products according to menu standards.
- Set up, open, operate, and close the unit following established procedures.
- Operate equipment such as broilers, grills, fryers, beverage machines, microwave ovens, pizza ovens, bun toasters, slicers, floor machines, buffers, and vacuum cleaners.
- Cash Handling
- Operate the cash register, make change, and place money in the safe.
- Follow all cash-handling policies and procedures.
- Food Preparation & Storage
- Prepare items according to established recipes, procedures, and specifications.
- Transfer, receive, store, rotate, and inventory food supplies.
- Store requisitioned items and leftovers appropriately.
- Notify management of shortages or supply issues.
- Cleaning & Maintenance
- Maintain cleanliness in work and dining areas.
- Wash and store pots, pans, and equipment.
- Clean floors, ceilings, walls, windows, and lavatories.
- Empty, clean, and maintain garbage and recycling containers.
- Clean janitor closet, vacuum carpets, and wash windows as needed.
- Assist in rearranging seating for special functions.
- Safety & Emergency Response
- Report equipment malfunctions to a supervisor.
- Notify supervisor of emergency situations and take appropriate action until help arrives.
- Attend required off-site training as needed.
Work Conditions
- Requires standing for extended periods, operating kitchen and cleaning equipment, and occasional ladder use.
- Work may involve exposure to heat, cleaning chemicals, and heavy lifting.
