Position Title: Collator Machine OperatorLocation: Valmeyer, ILExperience: 6 yearsJob Description Routinely operates a continuous or unit set collator based on job ticket instructions. Conducts routine maintenance and makes minor repairs to equipment as necessary.ResponsibilitiesReviews job folder for special instructions pertaining to any bindery and finishing requirements.Primarily responsible for the set-up and operation of a collator, but may be cross-trained on other equipment such as: Encoder, Label Affixer, Rewinder, Folder, Stitcher, Drill (punch).Reports production problems and/or errors to identify possible changes in procedures to prevent re-occurrence.Ensures equipment maintenance is performed and reports any downtime affecting production schedules and delivery commitments.Operates all equipment using proper safety procedures; uses proper lifting techniques; ensures carts and pallets are properly stowed and completes housekeeping on a routine basis.Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.).15 years of related training and experience with demonstrated competency in the operation of a collator and some of the bindery machines noted above.SkillsLanguage Skills: Ability to read correspondence, memos, technical procedures, and follow job folder instructions.
