  • Level 3: PICU critical care
• Manage fluctuating assignments based on census
• May float to other pediatric units (including ICN)

• Pediatric assessment and stabilization
• Respiratory support (including BiPAP)
• Critical care monitoring when PICU patients present
• Med-Surg pediatric care when PICU census is low
• Flexibility across acuity levels

• Highly variable acuity depending on census
• Mix of ICU, stepdown, and floor-level pediatric care
• Travel nurses may often work non-ICU pediatric assignments depending on volume
