Key responsibilities include ensuring data governance activities and deliverables support the Finance Data Governance & Management, driving the finance roadmap, contributing to major Data Governance projects, and leading education on data management.
Responsibilities
6 years or related experience in data governance/consulting roles/accounting/finance. Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance, data science/analytics Software knowledge: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), Power BI, SAP S/4, SAP BPC, & Jira. Understanding of the following:

- Drive all Data Governance activities - Policies Standards and Procedures
- Support the team to enable Data Governance Tools and Templates (Atacama, Data Prep Guide Templates Retail Spine Data Foundations etc.)
- Evolve the Data Working groups and alignment to other forums
- Drive Awareness, Education and Data Stewardship and Data Champions within Finance ADUSA
Responsibilities
- Alignment to Retail Spine Data Foundations
- FIRE/Management Reporting Alignment: UNITY Data Catalog, Glossary, Operational Metrics
- Finance Domain Stewardship Socialization
- Finance Leads & Stewards Nominations and Sub-Domain / Subject Area Finalization
- Finance Domain Risk-based Prioritization
- Data Governance Policy and Standards Analysis
- Work cross functional with:
- Reporting & Analytics team and Governance team
- Brands, Finance & Non-Finance teams
- Support companies and teams
- IT squads and teams
- Other customers that we have (internal and/or external)
- Works with governance groups to oversee compliance and management of data
- Key contributor to drive the overall finance roadmap
- Contribute to the effective implementation of major projects and/or functional initiatives
- Effective internal and external communications
- Leads education and training related to data and reporting management to team, business partners and end users
- Drives and leads reporting related system implementation and management of data/reporting
- Self-motivation ongoing (Self Starter)
- Ability to make well thought-out decisions on complex or ambiguous issues
- Take lead to schedule meetings and follow up meetings as needed for critical work and projects.
- Work within the guidelines of the company/finance values and mission
- Ability to research and solve problems that arise
- Apply expertise and core competencies
- General governance tasks for all Data team members include:
- Ensuring and monitoring Data Quality
- Data Dictionary, Business Glossary and Data Catalog - definitions and implementation requirements
- Analyzing data/report requirements, assisting in cataloging data and reporting elements, assisting of with and building out Power BI reporting and dashboards for consumption of all levels of the business
- Completion timelines of general and individual tasks will be set and agreed on by manager & associate based on project and priorities, these timelines will fluctuate based on business needs
- Additional job duties may be assigned as needed to meet the needs of the business and support our Values.
- Accounting terminology and processes (GL/AP/AR/Cash Sales/Inventory)
- Financial reporting (P&Ls, Income statements, Balance Sheets, etc.)
- Retail business (Operations/Stores, Merchandising, D&T)
- Azure/FionA
- Data life cycle (from source to reporting)
- Collaborate effectively and with respect across teams and other business partners.
