What are the responsibilities and job description for the Capital Engineer Co-Op - Spring or Fall 2027 position at Ahlstrom?
We are seeking a Capital Engineer Co-Op at our Mosinee, Wisconsin plant for the 2027 Spring Semester (January – August) or Fall Semester (June – December). This individual will support capital project planning, budgeting, tracking, and administrative activities while gaining hands-on experience with infrastructure investments, financial analysis, and cross-functional project coordination.

- $27.00 per hour
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
- Enrolled in an Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Controls/Automation or similar Engineering degree program
- Living in or willing to relocate to the Mosinee, Wisconsin area fro m January – August or June – December 2027
- Strong technical aptitude and proven problem-solving abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization
- Evaluate product improvement or cost optimization projects
- Assist with machine shutdowns and start-ups
- Monitor, assess, analyze, and optimize process quality and conditions
- Monitor, assess, and analyze process variability
- Reduce environmental impact
- Provide technical support for key departments
- Provide problem solving and analytical skills
- Must follow Ahlstrom’s manufacturing and hygiene processes, procedures and policies, as applicable, to the position’s areas of responsibility, in order to meet and maintain the safety, quality, and regulatory compliance requirements for each grade of paper
- Assist and/or lead safety, productivity, quality, efficiency, cost control, compliance, and housekeeping projects
- Support operations/maintenance efforts and drive continuous improvement
