Duties
- Perform comprehensive grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and styling of various dog breeds to meet owner preferences and breed standards
- Handle dogs safely using animal restraint techniques, ensuring comfort and security during grooming procedures
- Conduct pet nail trimming, ear cleaning, and coat styling with precision and care
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand grooming requests and provide advice on pet coat maintenance and overall care
- Maintain a clean, organized grooming station by sanitizing tools and work areas regularly
- Assist with basic dog training or behavioral guidance to promote calmness during grooming sessions when needed
- Support other team members with animal handling, pet care, and ensuring a positive experience for every furry client
Skills
- Proven experience in pet grooming, including pet coat styling and pet nail trimming
- Strong dog handling skills with the ability to manage animals of different temperaments safely
- Knowledge of animal restraint techniques and general animal handling practices
- Background in veterinary experience or veterinary technician/assistant roles is highly desirable to understand animal health needs
- Familiarity with pet care routines such as bathing, ear cleaning, and coat maintenance
- Excellent communication skills to engage with pet owners confidently and professionally
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for equipment or large dogs
