Role Overview
The Director of AI & Process Automation is a senior operating role responsible for embedding AI into the firm’s core workflows. This is a business transformation role.
This person will redesign how work gets done across underwriting, diligence, asset management, investor reporting, and back office operations—using AI to eliminate friction, reduce cycle times, and improve quality.
This role blends process design, systems thinking, and applied AI. It is hands on, highly cross functional, and directly tied to business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Workflow Redesign & Automation (Primary)
- Map end to end workflows across:
- Credit underwriting and investment committee materials
- Due diligence (rent rolls, leases, borrower documents, legal)
- Asset management reporting and portfolio monitoring
- Investor reporting, fundraising, and communications
- AP, fund operations, and recurring compliance processes
- Identify where AI should:
- Assist humans
- Automate tasks
- Standardize outputs
- Design future workflows that scale without linear headcount growth
2. AI Tooling, Systems & Vendor Strategy
- Select, implement, and govern AI tools (LLMs, document intelligence, automation platforms)
- Build internal knowledge systems (deal history, terms, outcomes, precedents)
- Create secure prompt libraries, usage standards, and documentation
- Integrate AI tools with existing systems (CRM, accounting, document management)
3. Adoption, Training & Change Management
- Train teams to work effectively with AI tools
- Shift roles from “doing” to “reviewing, deciding, and managing exceptions”
- Establish clear expectations for AI usage, quality control, and escalation
- Drive real adoption—not shelf ware
4. Governance, Risk & Quality Control
- Ensure AI outputs meet investment, fiduciary, and compliance standards
- Define where human judgment is mandatory
- Establish auditable and version control for AI assisted work
- Partner with legal, finance, and leadership on risk management
5. Measurement & ROI
- Define KPIs tied to:
- Cycle time reduction
- Error reduction
- Output consistency
- Headcount leverage
- Regularly report progress and ROI to leadership
Experience
- 8–10 years in operations, product ops, or technology enabled finance
- Desired experience in:
- Investment firms, private credit, PE, or real estate
- OR fintech / prop tech / consulting roles with real operational ownership
- Demonstrated success redesigning workflows, vs.recommending tools
Skills & Attributes
- Strong understanding of document heavy, judgement driven processes
- Fluent in AI concepts and tools (LLMs, automation, document intelligence)

- Comfortable working directly with senior level professionals

Salary : $200,000 - $250,000
