⚙️ Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy treatments to residents according to the occupational therapist's treatment plans.
- Assist the Occupational Therapist with tests, evaluations, and complex treatment procedures.
- Observe, record, and report conditions, reactions, and responses related to assigned duties.
- Maintain daily treatment records and document progress notes as directed.
- Assist the therapist in consulting with family members, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Assist with the care of the occupational therapy department and equipment.
- Assist with in-service programs and other meetings as assigned.
- Access continuing education opportunities appropriate to discipline and responsibilities.
- Act in compliance with Ahava Therapy Services’ regulatory and professional standards.
- Attend and participate in rehabilitation team conferences and other facility meetings.
- Adhere to company and facility policies and participate in quality improvement and safety programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Understand reimbursement by various payers and allocate therapy resources efficiently.
- Demonstrate knowledge of OBRA regulations, HIPAA, Local Coverage Determination, and third-party reimbursement guidelines.
- Support the company’s mission and vision and project a professional image.
- Independently perform duties and recognize situations where direct supervision is needed.
- Maintain expected productivity levels.
- Graduate of an approved Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program
- Active Tennessee OTA license or eligibility under state statutes
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Strong observational, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team
